It is important to the university that those employed as postdoctoral associates be classified as postdoctoral associates, and not as visiting scholars, research scientists, and the variety of other employment classifications that have been used in the past. The number of postdoctoral associates is an important consideration in the National Research Council rankings and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Classification designation.
UCF has defined employment procedures and policies related to Postdoctoral Associates. You can find this information on the UCF Human Resources website at hr.ucf.edu/web/records/sign-in.shtml.
The PostDoctoral Associate Agreement can be found here.
The new post-doctoral employment classification includes the FICA-alternative retirement benefit and can include health insurance at the department’s discretion. For more information about benefits, please visit the Human Resources page at hr.ucf.edu/web/benefits/PDA_Benefits.shtml.
